Incarnum

General concept

Primary mechanic of Incarnum classes don't get traditional dailies. Instead they get bindings - they can bind encounter powers to get other effects, usually static ones, and then some can unshape those binds to get a bigger daily-type effect.

These powers are written out a bit like Full Disciplines for monks.

A lot of incarnum utility powers function as binds onto magic item slots.

As with psionic classes, not all of the Incarnum classes have to use this exact same effect, or use it the same way.

Classes

Animist - Controller (Concept: Inflicts status effects on foes, then can release status effects for damage)
Duskblade - Defender (Concept: Uses implements, defender aura, binds encounters to produce different aura/mark effects)
Incarnate - Leader (Concept: Binds effects to others, release to let them do stuff/healing)
Soulknife - Striker (Concept: Soulmelds their weapon, release meld to deal extra damage)

Animist

Soulmeld - Animists meld stuff both onto themselves and onto enemies. Their encounters and at-wills don't do damage initially, but impose status effects. Then, once per round, they can unshape a meld on an opponent to set off a new effect - usually straight damage, or bursts that do some damage and push/pull/slide/do controllery things. They can also bind encounters onto themselves for controllery auras.

Duskblade

An implement using defender! Hoping not to have to make a new implement. Maybe holy symbols or ki focuses or something. Maybe rods.

Has Defender Aura. Also can mark another enemy via Soulbind. Use Soulblight to punish.

Soulbind - Duskblade Feature
Encounter * Incarnum, Soulmeld
Minor Action
Close burst 5
Target: One enemy in burst
Effect: You mark the target until the end of the encounter.
Special: At 6th level, you can use this power twice per encounter, but only once per round. At 16th level, you can use this power three times per encounter, but only once per round.

Release * Immediate Interrupt
Trigger:The target deals damage to an ally with an attack that does not target you
Effect: You take the damage and suffer any other effects of the triggering attack instead of the ally. After the damage is dealt, the target is weakened (save ends).

Soulblight - Duskblade Feature
At-Will * Incarnum, Implement
Opportunity Action
Melee 1
Ability vs Will
Trigger: Any enemy marked by you or subject to your defender aura makes an attack that does not include you as a target or shifts.
Hit: 1d10 + Ability modifier damage.

Example of bindable encounter for duskblade:

Sap Spirit - Duskblade Meld 1
Encounter * Implement, Incarnum, Psychic, Radiant, Soulmeld
Standard Action
Melee 1
Ability vs Will
Target: One creature
Hit: 1d10 + Ability modifer psychic and radiant damage, and the target is slowed (save ends).

Bind: While this power is bound, your Soulblight power also slows until the end of your next turn.

Release * Standard
Melee 1
Ability vs Will
Target: One creature
Hit: 3d10 + Ability modifier psychic and radiant damage, and the target is immobilized (save ends).
Miss: Half damage and the target is immobilized until the end of your next turn.

Incarnate

Soulmeld - Incarnates use their encounter powers to meld onto others to give them static benefits. Later on, they come back and release those melds to do shit. They use a healing aura sort of like a skald's, and they bind onto themselves to change how the aura works.

Healing Animus - Incarnate Feature
Encounter * Incarnum, Healing
Minor Action
Aura 5 (10 at 11th level, 15 at 21st level)
Effect: Twice per encounter but only once per round, you or an ally in the aura may spend a minor action to spend a healing surge and regain additional hit points equal to your Ability modifier. Alternatively, you or an ally in the aura may spend a minor action to allow an adjacent ally to spend a healing surge and regain additional hit points equal to your Ability modifier. If an ally is subject to one of your soulmeld, you can spend the minor action even if they are not adjacent to you, as long as they are within the aura.

Soulknife

Uh…

To-Do

  • Come up with a better name for Duskblade, since they don't use blades.
    • Sanctifier? Spiritwall? Something that isn't terrible?
      • Come up with better names for their powers and features too
  • Figure out a striker feature for soulknives.
  • Figure out a better way to display powers so they're readable
  • If chakra should be used somehow
    • Maaaaaybe
  • If essentia should be used somehow
    • Probably not
      • I mean seriously, how autismally complicated does this have to be?
  • Totemists?
    • Totemists!

Idea List

  • Bindable feats!
  • Bindable items!
    • This may be a terrible idea
  • Races!
    • Skarn, maybe their dorky younger brothers too
      • As long as they aren't humans with scales I mean seriously
    • The ugly-ass fey
    • Something that's actually interesting
