Vengeful Viera Veteran
Artemis' first encounter with the Titans was when she was captain of the airship Straight Flush. The colony she was visiting needed to evacuate, and they were trying to pick up stragglers and ferry them to a larger airship waiting at a safe distance. On her second pass, the Titan literally slapped the Straight Flush out of the sky. Artemis lost the ship, most of her crew and one of her arms when it was crushed in the wreckage.
Since then she's rolled with a few Companies in a few different Jobs and had more than enough close encounters for a lifetime, but she's still a little mad about it.

Artemis always liked to drink and goof off, even when she was ostensibly supposed to be captain, but since she was nearly killed by a Titan she's really stopped giving a fuck. So far she seems to have really good luck when it comes to getting out of trouble, but if she keeps pushing it it's going to hurt when her luck runs out.

I Used To Be An Airship Captain
Artemis was born Frya, a much more sensible Viera name. She became fascinated by the Wildlands, and when she was old enough she sought a chance to adventure in them. She ended up joining the crew of the Straight Flush and changing her name to Artemis. It wasn't the fastest ship, or the best-looking, or the most well-maintained, but it didn't fall apart between worlds and it took her to interesting ones! Eventually she rose to captain it herself, which lasted for about three months until she took an airship to the arm.

After receiving a medal and a new arm from Core's government, Artemis drifted a lot. Usually when she was between Jobs she'd get involved in the salvage trade - digging through the ruins of Titan-destroyed colonies looking for things to sell. It was a business for the shady, the seedy, the crazy and the too scared to fight Titans themselves, but Artemis got pretty good at navigating it.
One day she investigated a distress signal - a Wildland ship had crashed on some abandoned world, and someone was still alive! Artemis went there, expecting a profit, only to find a group of pirates had set up an ambush! Fortunately they did not expect someone whose arm could turn into a cannon. One dramatic fight and chase scene later Artemis walked away with victory, the loot, and a date with a nice young pirate who really just wanted to move back to Core and take up dancing.

A few jobs later, Artemis found herself in a nice little Wildlands town that catered to Titanslayers. There was even a casino! Fortunately, though the Titan left her with a missing limb and a chunk out of her left ear, she was still pretty adorbs. Artemis managed to make a fair amount of money before some black mage ruined it by training a Titan to the town. It was fun though!

Sweets On The Inside
During a stopover on Chrysalis, Artemis saw a strange flying Guymelef. She wasn't in any state to chase it though - after running into an old crew member who'd commented that she'd become grumpy since they last met, she'd decided to loosen up and spent the afternoon stuffing herself with delicious candy. It's hard to chase Guymelef on a stomach ache!

Artemis' new arm is a magitech prosthetic. With a bit of work, it's able to scan parts of downed Titan creatures and reconfigure itself to mimic their powers. Or she can use its basic function to shoot energy beams at Titans. That works too.
